We just met for the last time with our new friends from the Senior Center. What a great seven weeks we had while we learned side-by-side every Wednesday afternoon. We will miss their company as they, I am sure, will miss ours.

Day 114 - Tara Olshaw, Memorial School Fourth Grade
(title unknown):
Last week we were lucky enough to have Bol Thiik visit us from Winchester to tell us about his experience as a "Lost Boys". What? You have never heard of the Lost Boys? Well, you should really check out their amazing story in the Boston Globe or learn how to support the building of a school for needy children Lost Boys Support. We all walked away from Bol's visit with a new appreciation for learning in Burlington.

Musical Instruments: The kids did a fabulous job with their instruments. They worked hard and it showed. They were able to share what made the vibration on the instrument and we even discussed how the pitch would change if we made some changes to any of the instruments.

Bears in Memorial School
We are so lucky to have a wonderful Science Center to put on fantastic displays in our lobby. This year, the focus is on the Bears. The students really enjoyed learning about 3 of the 8 different species this mammal and seeing actual (stuffed) bears and a replica of a polar bear. Ask your child which bear was their favorite!
